Apr 16, 2012 - lol! I'm glad I only drive 8 or 9 LL transmissions. I don't usually use the LL side unless I'm chipping stone or backing into the asphalt paver.

patwdcck Says:

Apr 6, 2012 - Excellent video showing the use of the range button and splitter.... Can you shift from say 8th overdrive direct to 7th overdrive going down through the gears and so forth, or do you have to go into direct?

Gingerkid627 Says:

Apr 1, 2012 - the eaton 8LL also have a blue reduction seletor

my98gmcturbo Says:

Mar 16, 2012 - @rond361 the Eaton Fuller super 15 has the blue splitter but only in the bottom gears

bigglimo Says:

Mar 2, 2012 - That's what i had to figure out the first day when i got my RV hauler delivered. I had drove it around for a couple of days to "get used" to driving it as far as the shifting goes. I figured that when i was turning a right corner at a light, 4Lo/4Hi was usually the the gear that i was gonna use to make that turn with. If it was a left turn at a light with a turn left arrow, knowing that i was gonna be faster, i'm usually in 5Lo/5Hi. I can't be specific as to the exact speeds.

Big3741 Says:

Feb 8, 2012 - the super 10 has gray split buton like a 18

bluechevyv Says:

Jan 29, 2012 - Hey Kevin up shift at 1500 it will drop 2000 to 2500 rpm to the next when splitting gears. Truck gear speed depends on rear end gear and horse power you will have to play with it.

bluechevyv Says:

Jan 29, 2012 - Some of you are forgetting the dlb low gear. Low/low od 1/1 od 2/2od 3/3od 4/4od hi/low up 5/5od 6/6 od 7/7od 8/8od that's 18 gears forward . Video shifted like a short 13 speed. Want a challenge ? 4 over 5 twin stick...

kevinakashorty Says:

Jan 27, 2012 - can somebody PLEASE tell me what the road speed to gears are on a 18 Speed Eaton Fuller trans,in a 2008 peterbuilt "i think" 389?? PLEASE! im training with a driver of a company and he wants me to drive like HE does! not how i learned to! "double clutching in school" he wants me to,"coming to a stop sign, get to 6 gear, pop into neutral and find a lower gear" problem I have is knowing the road speed to gears!!! 1,2,3,4, i know 5 is 15mph

xDONTxTREADxONxMEx Says:

Jan 10, 2012 - Shifting an 18 speed is basically just a combination of a Super 10 and a standard 10 speed. I personally love the Super 10 but as long as Im getting paid, I dont care about gear patterns.

rond361 Says:

Dec 31, 2011 - no it is not, a 10 speed Eaton Fuller does not have a splitter button so how could it be blue? A 9 speed Eaton Fuller does not have one either.

Nov 24, 2011 - Im running a 460 Mack wit a 18 spd EF... Love it... That extra splitter for each gear comes in handy when ur loaded with 30 ton of Logs on 10 tires.. Heaviest load ive hauled on it was 34 ton . Steering tires were barely staying on the ground :) Nuttin like logging

transitcoffin Says:

Nov 19, 2011 - i used to drive a seddon atkinson with this gear box hated it no need for all them gears like range chane on volvo much better :)

mcgoo721 Says:

Oct 14, 2011 - Yes and no haha. I looked in to them more since i asked that, and now I get it. Once I realized what exactly happened with the high/low selector, and the direct drive/OD button, it makes a lot more sense. 10spds just have a 5 gear pattern, with a hi/low switch, 13spds are the same only the high sides can be split, and 18's can be split low and high. Just wish the school I'll be going to used 13's. They only use 10's.

ShaneMSnyder Says:

Oct 14, 2011 - When you get through half the gears. 18 speeds are like 10 speeds but you split high low. Think of the shift pattern like a stand H shift pattern. L13 R24 Pull the front knob: L57 R68 But with 18 speeds you can split each gear between low and high. lol did that make any sense?
