Apr 9, 2012 - ok, listen, these animals are dead. This is no different than using human corpses for anatomical research. I understand the abhorrence to doing so, which is why i never took anatomy because the class required you dissect cats that had been put down by the local animal shelter, it wasn't for me but understand that this is purely scientific and has to be done in order to learn about the species being studied, it's not like the dude dissecting the starfish is getting some pleasure out of it -.-'
Apr 7, 2012 - I doubt i would have much to say if i got dissected, because like the starfish I would be dead as well.
And it isn't wrong, this helps us understand species, and if needed, protect them.
If this is so wrong, consider how doctors know HUMAN anatomy, and if we can do it on something that was as smart as us once, why not a dead starfish?
