May 25, 2012 - That's just what he does, it's his "thing". It's basically just for comedic purposes, he's not trying to be disrespectful. I'm not even a Metallica fan, but I've always loved this song remake/video because it's amusing to see them "playing" such a different style of music. Also, he actually does have a video of himself playing it if you look on his channel.

If you can write catchy riffs that millions of people like, surely that means you are good musically? i agree lars's drumming really isnt up to scratch, hammet can play what he plays well, other than than he's not very talent, hetfield CAN sing, and is the best guitarist out of them all. Whats wrong with trujillo? he was bassist for ozzy! they may not be as talented in 'skill of playing instruments wise', like megadeth or something, but there sure succeeded more :L
